Clients and friends, meet Bill and Colleen Rains. Both retired, Bill and Colleen enjoy spending their time working on hobbies – quilting, reading, woodworking, ancestry, and more – and spending more time with family. Colleen’s passion is quilting, for herself, her church, and as part of a group creating lap quilts for people undergoing cancer treatment at The James.
They say about 10 years out from retirement they challenged themselves to think about what they are passionate about and what they wanted to spend their time on. As Colleen says, “We never take enough time in our lives to say “what do we want?”” They encourage others to be thoughtful about the changes that happen in retirement and to think about what to get involved with. Great advice! Enjoy their beautiful story.
