The Joseph Group

Looking Back at the Summer

August 1, 2025

To Inspire:

This past summer, I had the incredible honor of being selected as the marketing intern at The Joseph Group and even more exciting, I was the first-ever intern in this role! What an unforgettable journey it has been. My time here has not only provided me with valuable marketing skills but has also taught me life lessons I’ll carry with me long after this internship.

From the moment I walked through the doors on my very first day, I was welcomed with open arms by every single team member. That warm welcome wasn’t just a first-day formality, it stayed consistent throughout my entire experience. The company culture at The Joseph Group is truly unlike any other. My experience of being a marketing intern was nothing short of positive. As an intern, I always felt like my ideas were valued, my voice was heard, and my work mattered.

I had the privilege of working alongside Michelle O’Brien, Manager of Marketing and Communications, and Matt Palmer, Partner and Co-Founder. These two were not just coworkers, they became mentors, role models, and always full of endless encouragement. If you ever have the pleasure of crossing paths with Michelle or Matt, you’ll undoubtedly walk away with a smile on your face.

One of the first major projects I helped with was assisting with multimedia for the Spring Wealth Summit. Being part of the behind-the-scenes planning for such a large and meaningful event so early in the start of my internship was nothing short of amazing. The Joseph Group truly pays attention to every detail that goes into making every event unforgettable for their clients, friends, and families.

As the summer continued, I had the opportunity to manage content for the firm’s social media platforms, including LinkedIn and Facebook. As a Gen Z marketing major, social media is a true passion of mine, and this role allowed me to bring a creative and generational perspective to the firm’s digital voice. I learned how to tailor messages to reach and resonate with their specific audience, all while helping enhance The Joseph Group’s brand and visibility.

One of my favorite projects was working on a special video and written feature that embodied the firm’s mission: “Helping create great lives, one story at a time.” I interviewed team members, asking them to answer three heartfelt questions that reflected the core values of The Joseph Group. Whether recorded on camera or shared through written reflections, these stories deepened my connection with the team and showed the powerful impact the firm’s mission has not just on clients – but on the team members, too.

Throughout the summer, I had the chance to contribute to more meaningful marketing initiatives and even this WealthNotes you’re reading now! Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of all I’ve learned and accomplished.

As my time here wraps up, I want to extend my deepest thank you to everyone at The Joseph Group. You made this experience unforgettable. I’ve grown as a marketer, a student, and a person and I’ll always be grateful to have been part of this team, for this summer.
