Be Open to Change
May 9, 2025
To Inspire:
Catholics all over the world are celebrating the election of Cardinal Robert Prevost as the Church’s newest Pope – Pope Leo XIV. This represents a new chapter in the life of the Catholic Church, and with this new chapter will come change. Pope Leo is sure to bring his ideas and plans (guided by the Holy Spirit) into his papacy, building on foundation laid by his predecessors.
It has me reflecting on the importance of change in our own lives. Are each of us open to positive change in our life? Are we formulating new plans, new ideas, new goals, and new ways to become the best version of ourselves: better spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, leaders, volunteers?
Spring is a great time to sit down and reflect on your life. Are you headed in the right direction, are you living the great life you were made to live? If not, what changes do you need to make? Perhaps you need to realign your priorities to reflect on what is most important to you. Perhaps you need to change your weekly schedule to make more time for those you love and those who need you. Perhaps you need to create new routines and new habits that move you closer to the life you truly want to live.
Whatever changes you need to make to live your best life, create a plan to incorporate those changes. Get a vision in your mind of what you want your new life to look like. Share your change plan with those closest to you and ask them to help you be accountable to the new habits and routines you are establishing. Celebrate the little wins and don’t get discouraged when you fail at times – get back up and pursue your new vision of yourself.
Life – it’s such a gift. Let’s live it with intention, with joy, and with gratitude. In doing so we’ll build lives that ripple outwardly and positively impact others in ways we never could have imagined.
Have a great weekend!
