The Warmth of Unconditional Love
January 21, 2022
To Inspire:
I don’t know about you but I’m getting tired of this cold weather!
Last night When I got home from the office, I made a fire in the fireplace. Within a few minutes, everything was different. Our living room was brighter, warmer, more comfortable. Even my mood changed – from being tired and stressed from a long day to one of peace and relaxation. That fire had changed everything!
Love is like a that fire. When we bring love into someone else’s life they are changed. Just as a fire warms a room, so can our love warm another person‘s heart. Are you concerned about someone close to you? Want to see their life change for the better? Instead of lecturing them with words, love them unconditionally in your actions. Show them that you desire what is truly best for them. Help them become the best version of themselves. That is showing true love.
1st Corinthians 13 states it so beautifully:
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy or boast and it is not rude, proud or self seeking. It is not easily angered and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not rejoice in evil but rejoices in the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres.
What if we all made a New Year’s resolution to love those around us, no matter what. We might just find them changing for the better. And we might just find ourselves also changing for the better. What a great way to live great lives…
It sure is cold. When you get home tonight, try lighting a fire…
