Joseph Palmer
March 20, 2017
We’re sorry to share that our father, Joseph Palmer, died Friday, March 10th. Dad would have been 86 years old tomorrow, March 22nd. We are so thankful to God for his long and good life and we are so thankful that God gave dad to us – what a priceless gift! If we can love the way dad loved as a husband, father, grandfather and friend, we will have lived well indeed.
We’ll remember dad every day for the rest of our lives. He lives on – not just in heaven as our Christian faith tells us, but also in the lives of those he touched – the two of us and our other two siblings; all of our spouses; his 11 grandchildren; and his many friends. He also lives on in this company, which we named after him. When we began The Joseph Group back in 1999, we thought that naming this business after him would be a way to honor him and thank him for the great love and support he had shown us throughout our lives. We’re so glad we did that.
Who has touched your life with love and support? Is it a parent, a friend, a mentor. Reach out to them today and thank them. And consider taking a big step forward in your life in honor of them. It doesn’t have to be starting a business – perhaps it’s a passion you’ve been wanting to pursue or a noble cause on behalf of others that needs you and your skills. Strive to live big and to live nobly and do it in honor and in gratitude for someone who gave much to you. Do it not just for them but also for yourself. And if you’re a person of faith, do it for God.
And don’t forget to say “I love you” to those you love. This life is fleeting – so carpe deim (seize the day!). –Mark and Matt Palmer
