TJG Helping Out

June 9, 2023

To Inspire:

This week members of The Joseph Team had the opportunity to spend the afternoon at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, helping with their On-Site Community Pantry.

While the Collective has multiple food bank locations, this on-site pantry in Grove City is their only drive-thru pantry and serves a lot of people. Some team members worked inside bagging produce, stocking shelves, and putting together grocery carts with food and produce. The carts then headed outside where other team members worked to check in cars and load food into vehicles.

Everyone understands the value of volunteering – supporting worthwhile causes and offering vital help to people in need. But don’t discount the impacts volunteering can have on the volunteer.

Volunteering can have a big effect on your overall mental health, combating depression and anxiety. It can also help your physical health. Volunteers tend to walk more and are less likely to develop high blood pressure.

And one of the reasons volunteering is such a great activity for work teams is the way volunteering connects you with others. The shared experience strengthens existing relationships.

It was hard work, but we had a great time. The experience really hit on all our core values: Integrity, Teamwork, Humility, Excellence, and Enthusiasm. We’re already looking forward to our next volunteer opportunity later this year.

Enjoy some pictures from our fun and inspiring day, and have a great weekend!
